To enter text using the Gesture input function

When you enter text using the on-screen keyboard, slide your finger from letter
to letter to trace the word you want to write.

Lift up your finger when you’ve finished entering a word. A word is suggested
based on the letters you have traced. If necessary, select the correct word in
the candidate bar.

To view more options, scroll right or left in the word candidate bar. If you
cannot find the desired word, tap   once to delete the entire word, then try
again to trace the word using the Gesture input function, or tap each letter to
enter the word.
To change the Gesture input settings

When the on-screen keyboard is displayed, tap  .

Tap  , then tap 
Keyboard settings > Text input settings.

To activate or deactivate the Gesture input function, mark or unmark the
Gesture input checkbox.
To use the one-handed keyboard

Open the on-screen keyboard in portrait mode, then tap  .

Tap  , then tap 
One-handed keyboard.

To move the one-handed keyboard to the left side or right side of the screen,
tap   or   accordingly.
To return to using the full on-screen keyboard, tap  .
Entering text using voice input
When you enter text, you can use the voice input function instead of typing the
words. Just speak the words that you want to enter. Voice input is an experimental
technology from Google™, and is available for a number of languages and regions.
To enable voice input

When you enter text using the on-screen keyboard, tap  .

Tap  , then tap 
Keyboard settings.

Mark the 
Google voice typing key checkbox.

Tap   to save your settings. A microphone icon   appears on your on-screen
keyboard.
To enter text using voice input

Open the on-screen keyboard or the Phonepad.

Tap  . When   appears, speak to enter text.

When you're finished, tap   again. The suggested text appears.

Edit the text manually if necessary.

Editing text
You can select, cut, copy and paste text as you write. You can access the editing
tools by double-tapping the entered The editing tools then become available via an
application bar.
