Setting up the hardware
Network Media Receiver
Environment 2: DSL/cable modem with built-in router, without network switch ports
Read the notes on
, then proceed as follows:

Connect the Network Media Receiver to a network switch device (1), using the network cable (2).

Connect the Ethernet jack on each VAIO computer to the jack(s) on the network switch, using additional network cables* (3).

Connect the network switch device to the DSL or cable modem, using a network cable* (4).
