The NMSI looks for the DEFINITY_ARS script when one of the following events occur:

• NMSI receives an alarm trap from the managed nodes listed below:

– DEFINITY 

– MCU

– IP600

– DEFINITY One

• NMSI receives an exception event from the DNM application for these managed 

nodes

Then the NMSI calls the script and passes the values listed below to the alarm notification 
program. If a value is not defined, then the NMSI assigns the alarm the string "NULL_
FIELD."

New status severity

Old status severity

Product ID

Alarm sequence number

Alarming Port 

Maintenance object name
