分解しないでください

ミニディスクプレーヤーに使われているレーザ
ー光が目にあたると危険です。

レンズに触れないでください

レンズが汚れると音飛びが起きたり、再生でき
なくなったりする場合があります。
また、ほこりがつかないように、ディスクの出し
入れ以外はふたを開けないでください。

充電について
•

充電には必ず付属の充電器をお使いください。

•

付属の充電器では、指定の電池以外は充電し
ないでください。

•

お買い上げ時や長い間使わなかった充電式電
池では持続時間が短いことがあります。これ
は電池の特性によるもので、数回使えば充分
充電されるようになります。

•

充電式電池を充分に充電しても使える時間が
通常の半分くらいになったときは、新しい充
電式電池と取り換えてください。

•

長時間使用しないときは、充電式電池を本体
から取り出しておいてください。

•

充電が終わったら、早めに充電器をコンセン
トから抜いてください。長時間差したままに
すると、電池の性能を低下させることがあり
ます。

•

充電中は充電器や充電式電池が熱くなります
が、危険はありません。

日本国内での充電式電池の廃棄について

ニカド電池は、リサイクルで
きます。不要になったニカド
電池は、金属部にセロハンテ
ープなどの絶縁テープを貼っ
て充電式電池リサイクル協力
店へお持ちください。

海外での充電式電池の廃棄について

各国の法規制にしたがって廃棄してください。

乾電池ケースについて

付属の乾電池ケースは本機専用です。付属の乾電
池ケース以外は絶対に使用しないでください。

本体の乾電池ケース取り付け部につい
て

本体に充電式電池が入ったままの状態で、取り付
け部の端子が金属などとつながると、ショート
し、発熱することがあるので危険です。
バックなどに入れて持ち運ぶときは、付属のキャ
リングポーチに入れてください。

取り扱いについて
•

落としたり、強いショックを与えたりしない
でください。故障の原因になります。

•

リモコンやヘッドホンのコードを強くひっぱ
らないでください。

•

次のような場所には置かないでください。

温度上昇について

長時間お使いになったときに、本体の温度が上昇
することがありますが、故障ではありません。

動作音について

本機は省電力の動作方式になっています。
そのため、動作中は断続的に動作音がしますが
故障ではありません。

ヘッドホンについて

付属のヘッドホンは音もれ防止タイプですが、
音量を上げすぎると音が外にもれます。音量を
上げすぎて、まわりの人の迷惑にならないよう
に気をつけましょう。雑音の多いところでは音
量を上げてしまいがちですが、ヘッドホンで聞
くときはいつも呼びかけられて返事ができるく
らいの音量を、目安にしてください。

リモコンについて

付属のリモコンは本機専用です。また、他機種
に付属のリモコンでは本機の操作はできませ
ん。

ミニディスクの取り扱いについて
•

ミニディスク自体はカートリッジに収納さ
れ、ゴミや指紋を気にせず手軽に取り扱える
ようになっています。ただし、カートリッジ
のよごれや反りなどが誤動作の原因になるこ
ともあります。いつまでも美しい音で楽しめ
るように次のことにご注意ください。

ミニディスクに直接触れない
シャッターを手で開けないでください。
無理に開けるとこわれます。

置き場所について
直射日光が当たるところなど温度の高いと
ころや湿度の高いところには置かないでく
ださい。また、砂浜など、ディスクに砂が

定期的にお手入れを
カートリッジ表面についたほこりやゴミ
を、乾いた布でふき取ってください。

•

ディスクに付属のラベルは所定以外の位置に
貼らないでください。必ず、ラベル用のくぼ
みに合わせて貼ってください。

万一故障した場合は、内部を開けずに、お買い
上げ店またはソニーのサービス窓口にご相談く
ださい。

表面が汚れたときは

表面が汚れたときは、水気を含ませた柔らかい
布で軽くふいたあと、からぶきをします。シン
ナー、ベンジン、アルコールなどは表面を傷め
ますので使わないでください。

ヘッドホンおよびリモコンプラグのお
手入れについて

常によい音でお聞きいただくために、プラグを
ときどき柔らかい布でからぶきし、清潔に保っ
てください。汚れていると、雑音や音切れの原
因になることがあります。

サービス窓口にご相談になる前にもう一度チェ
ックしてみてください。
ご不明な点があるときは、テクニカルインフォ
メーションセンターへお問い合わせください。

操作を受けつけない

Getting started A

Charge the supplied rechargeable battery,
before using it for the first time.  Other
choices are a dry battery and house current
(see “Power Sources”).

1 Charge the supplied rechargeable battery

NC-6WM with the supplied battery
charger.
Charging is completed in about 3 hours.
You can charge the battery 300 times.
A fully-charged battery should power
consecutive playback for 14 hours before
you need to recharge it.

2 Open the rechargeable battery

compartment lid and insert the charged
battery with correct polarity.
To use a dry battery, insert one LR6 (size
AA) alkaline dry battery (not supplied)
into the supplied dry battery case, and
attach the battery case to the player.

3 Connect the supplied headphones to the

remote control.
Connect the remote control to i jack of
the player.
Slide HOLD on the remote control and
the player to the direction of the arrow
shown in the illustration.

Playing an MD B

1 Insert an MD.

Insert the MD with the label side
facing up, and press the lid down to
close.

during pause, the player resumes playback.
If you turn and hold the control towards .

down . or > N on the player) during
pause, you can fast forward/rewind without
listening to the playback sound.

** Once you open the lid, the point to start

playback changes to the beginning of the first
track.

When removing the disc, make sure to press x
first, and then press OPEN.

The anti-skip function provides resistance to
vibrations for varying lengths of time, depending
on the playback mode of the track.

* The player can play the track recorded by

Changing the play mode C

You can select various play modes using the
PLAYMODE and RPT/ENT buttons on the
remote control.

Press PLAYMODE.
Each time you press this button, the play
mode changes as follows:

Press PLAYMODE repeatedly until
“PGM” appears in the display.

Turn the control towards . or N>
to select a track.

Press RPT/ENT to enter a track number.

Repeat step 2 and 3 to program more
tracks.

Press RPT/ENT for 2 seconds or more.
The settings are entered and playback
starts from the first programmed track.

• All program settings are lost when the disc is

removed from the player.

• If no settings are made for 5 minutes while the

player is stopped, the settings made up to that
point are entered.

Press RPT/ENT during playback.
“

” appears in the display.

To adjust the sound quality
(Digital Sound Preset) D

You can make adjustments to the sound
quality to suit your taste, and then store two
sets of these adjustments.

Press SOUND on the remote control
repeatedly to select “SOUND1” or
“SOUND2”.

During playback, press SOUND for 2
seconds or more.

The player changes to the bass-setting
mode. Pressing the SOUND for 2 seconds
again changes the player back to the
treble-setting mode.

• Turn 

 switch to OFF when it is in the

following places:
— Near a source of strong radio waves, such

as a TV or radio transmitter

— Near a computer or other source of

electromagnetic noise

— Inside a car or train

To protect your hearing (AVLS)
G

Press AVLS (Automatic Volume Limiter
System) on the player to display “AVLS ON”
on the remote control.
The volume is kept at a moderate level, even
if you try to turn the volume above the
limited level.

To cancel the AVLS function
Press AVLS on the player to display “AVLS
OFF” on the remote control.

To lock the controls (HOLD) H

Slide HOLD on the remote control in the
direction of the

When to recharge or replace the
battery
When the battery indication changes to r,
the rechargeable battery or the dry battery is
weak.  Recharge the rechargeable battery or
replace the dry battery.  When the battery is
exhausted, “LOW BATT” flashes in the
display on the remote control and the power
goes off.

The battery life may be shorter depending on
operating conditions, the surrounding
temperature, and the battery type.

Using on house current J

Before using the player, remove the
rechargeable battery if it is installed.

Attach the supplied battery case to the
player and connect the optional AC-E15L
AC power adaptor (for use in Japan) or
the optioanl AC-E15 HG AC power
adaptor (for use outside of Japan) to the
DC IN 1.5V jack of the battery case.

Connect the AC power adaptor to a wall
outlet.
Do not use any other AC power adaptor.

• When using the AC power adaptor to power

the player, make sure to remove the
rechargeable battery from the player.  Leaving
the rechargeable battery in the player at this
time may cause the battery performance to
decline.

• Use only the optioanl AC-E15L/E15HG AC

power adaptor to power the player in your
home.  Use of any other AC power adaptor
may cause the player to malfunction.

• The AC-E15HG is shipped with different

specifications to suit the region it is used in.
Before purchasing the power adaptor, verify
that its voltage rating and the plug type are
suited to your region.

The sound can be adjusted in 8 steps
from –4 to +3.

Press RPT/ENT .
The sound settings are stored and the
playback display appears again.

Press SOUND on the remote control repeatedly
to select “SOUND1,” “SOUND2,” or off (no
display).  Selecting no display turns off the
Digital Sound Preset function.

The Digital Sound Preset factory settings are as
follows:
• “SOUND1”:  bass +1, treble ±0
• “SOUND2”:  bass +3, treble ±0

• Settings cannot be changed through the

operation buttons on the player.

• When you use the Digital Sound Preset, the

sound may break or become distorted when
the volume is turned up too high, depending
on the settings.

To know the track name and
playing time E

During playback, press DISPLAY on the
remote control.
Each time you press DISPLAY, the elapsed
time of the current track and the track
number, the track name and number, the disc
name and the number of tracks recorded on
the MD, the mode that the track was recorded
in and number appear.

The mode that each track was recorded in is
indicated as follows:
“Mode : SP”

The mode indication appears only during
playback.  It appears for 2 seconds, and is then
replaced by the elapsed time of the current track.

Setting the cellular phone alarm
(Incoming call alert function) F

This function conveniently alerts you when
you get a call on your cellular phone during
playback.
When using the  incoming call alert function,
make sure to put the player in the supplied
carrying pouch and put your cellular phone
in the pocket of the carrying pouch.

Set 

 on the player to ON.

When you get an incoming call, the alarm
sounds and “デンワ” flashes on the
remote control.

To stop the alarm
Press x on the remote control or on the
player.  Playback is stopped at this time.
To stop the alarm without stopping playback,
set 

 to OFF or press any button except x.

Note that pressing the button will not activate
its original function.

• The incoming call alert function is not

supported on PHS and CDMA cellular
phones.

• The incoming call alert function may not work

with certain types of the cellular phones.

• The incoming call alert function may not work

when metallic objects, mirrors or other items
that deflect radio waves are placed between
the player and the cellular phone.

• The alarm may be activated by call on other

cellular phones near you (for example, in a
crowd).  Also, the alarm may be activated by
an outgoing call, mail or internet activity on
your cellular phone.
