• The power was turned off with the LCD screen

SAVE] to [OFF] (page 102).

• You cannot use smart zoom while shooting a 

movie (MPEG movie).

• The LCD screen is turned off.

• You are shooting a spot lighted subject in a dark 

location such as on a stage. 

• The LCD screen is too bright. 

p Adjust the exposure (page 47). 

p Adjust the brightness of the LCD screen (pages 44, 102).

• [PFX] (P. EFFECT) is set to [B&W].

p Cancel the B&W mode (page 55). 

• The smear phenomenon is occurring. 

p This is not a malfunction.
