To play back a disc recorded on this 
camcorder using another BD/DVD 
recorder/player, refer to the table 
below. (Please also read the 
instruction manual for the playback 
device.)

Playback is possible on

compatible with 8 cm 
discs and recording

p.168. For BD-R, it is 
necessary to first 
finalize it on this 
camcorder (p.113) 
before playback.

Playback is possible on 
a DVD recorder/player 
compatible with 8 cm 
DVD-RAM/DVD-RW 
(VR mode) discs. 
Finalization is not 
needed.

Playback is possible on 
a DVD recorder/player 
compatible with 8 cm 
DVD-RW/DVD-R 
discs. It is necessary to 
first finalize it on this 
camcorder (p.113)

Insert the disc into the BD/DVD 
recorder/player and play it back.
• See the instruction manual for 

the BD/DVD recorder/player.

Finalize a recorded BD-R/DVD-RW 
(VF mode)/DVD-R.
• You must finalize a disc to 

play it back on a BD/DVD 
recorder/player.

• Be sure to finalize the disc 

recorded on this camcorder 
using this camcorder (p.113).

• No further data can be 

recorded on a finalized disc.

Insert the disc into the camcorder 
and play it back.
• See the instruction manual for 

the BD/DVD recorder/player.

Notes

• When playing back a disc on 

another device, the disc 
navigation display differs from 
the one on this camcorder.

• There may be a case that 

finalization is needed for a DVD-
RW (VR mode).

• Do not insert a DVD-RW (VR 

mode) disc that was recorded on 
this camcorder into a device that 
does not conform to 8 cm DVD-
RW (VR mode). Doing so may 
make the disc unusable.
