C243 DATA PRESENTER INSTRUCTIONS 
 
 
 
LAPTOP/DATA PROJECTION 
•  Connect the VGA cable that is located on top of the podium, to the VGA port on the laptop 
(this is generally the only port with which it will mate).  If audio is required attach the audio 
cable to headphone jack on the laptop.  Attach the network cable to use the network or 
internet. 
•  Point the Epson remote control toward the ceiling mounted data presenter and depress the 
“Power” button then the “Comp1” button.  Please turn off the power by depressing “Power” 
twice when completed. 
•  Power up your laptop and wait until it has booted up.  If no image appears on the wall 
projection screen you must configure the display output location.  Typically this is 
accomplished with a function key combination.  Please refer to your laptop owner’s manual.  
(With the IBM ThinkPad  hold down the Fn key then press F7) 
•  For appropriate volume adjust ALL the following to midway levels: 
•  Volume control knob or function buttons on your laptop. 
•  Volume control within the windows operating system. 
•  Volume button on the Epson remote. 
 
 
 
DESKTOP/DATA PROJECTION 
•  Point the Epson remote control toward the ceiling mounted data presenter and depress the 
“Power” button then the “Comp1” button.  Please turn off the power by depressing “Power” 
twice when completed. 
•  The teacher station is located immediately in front of the podium.  Turn the desktop power 
“ON”. 
•  There is currently no available audio amplification of the desktop computer 
 
VIDEO PROJECTION
 
•  None available 
 
 
 
Please be advised that classroom podiums are being kept locked to prevent theft of A/V 
equipment and remote controls.  Podium keys may be temporarily signed out from 
Media Services so that you may gain access.  We are urging all full-time Faculty to 
complete the requisite paperwork with their Dean to request their own key.
