CDM-570/570L Satellite Modem with Optional IP Module
Revision 4
Physical Description
MN/CDM570L.IOM
The keypad comprises six individual keyswitches, mounted directly behind a fully sealed
membrane overlay. They have a positive ‘click’ action which provides the user with
tactile feedback. These six switches are identified as ◄ ► (left, right), ▲▼

(up, down)
arrows, ENTER and CLEAR. The functions of these keys are described in the ‘Front
Panel Operation’ section.

There are eight LEDs on the front panel. The behavior of these LEDs is described in the
‘Front Panel Operation’ section.

There are eight LEDs on the rear panel, also. Six of these (all orange) indicate the
interface type currently selected. For systems in a redundant configuration a green LED
indicates the Online/Offline status of the unit. When the unit is connected to a 1:N
switch, a red LED indicates that caution is required, as there may be DC voltages and
other control signals present on certain pins on the 25 pin Data Interface connector.
Associated with this mode is a slide switch that selects the 1:N mode.

At the far left of the front panel is a USB Type B connector, used for re-flashing the
modem firmware, using a PC.
