Checking Battery Power 
To check the power level while on battery power, move the pen over the Power Meter
icon, shown here, in the system tray at the bottom right corner of the Motion C5 
display. Hovering over this icon shows the number of hours of battery power and the
percentage of battery power remaining. The blue area on the battery icon changes to
½ blue and ½ silver, then to almost all silver as the battery discharges. N

the Motion C5.
Entering Text and Data
To open the Tablet Input Panel (TIP), tap the icon located at the bottom left of the screen next to the
start menu.

1: Handwriting can be used for 80-90% of your free text input
(use cursive or printed letters).

2: The Character Pad has vertical lines that make a space for each
character. This is good for writing complicated names or medications with
letters and numbers such as D51/2NS for example.

d:  Scratch back and forth in a straight line two or three times; not in circles. Start
your line before the word and end the line after the word. You can also use a Z-shaped motion.

Although the barcode scanner emits a red light, it is not a laser, but an imager, that takes 
a picture of the barcode for the software to decode.  Therefore, your movements while
scanning with the C5, need to be slower.  Please see the online video for demonstrations.
When scanning the patient wrist band, it is best to hold the C5 by the side rather than the
handle.  You can hold it with either your left or right hand and use the “B” Function Button
on the front of the C5 to activate the scanner.
