11.2.3.22ping
Use this command to send ICMP echo-request packets to another node on the network while 
operating in switch mode. 
ping {[[-shostname | ip_address] [hostname | ip_address [packet-count]]}
Syntax Description
Command Defaults
If not specified, packet-count will be 3.
Command Type
Switch command.
Command Mode
Read-Only, Read-Write or Admin (su). 
Examples
This example shows how to ping IP address 10.1.10.1:
-s
(Optional) Causes a continuous ping, sending one 
datagram per second and printing one line of output for 
every response received, until the user enters Ctrl+C.
hostname 
ip_address
Specifies a host name or an IP address of the device to 
which the ping will be sent.
packet-count
(Optional) Specifies the number of packets to send. Valid 
values are from 1 to 2147483647.
