Turn ON the printer, and then the computer.

The Ready indicator on the printer starts flashing and 

Initializing

 is 

displayed on the printer’s front panel. After approximately 
5 minutes, the printer’s Ready indicator is lit and 

Ready

 is displayed on the 

printer’s front panel. The printer is ready for printing.

When you power on your system for the first time, if
