Menu functions

To exit from this menu at any time to 
standby mode, press and hold 

 

twice. Alternatively: Press 

 

(Options), choose 

, and press 

 (OK).

1. Write the message using predictive 

or traditional text input (see 
“Writing text” on page 8). The 
number of available characters and 
the current part number are shown 
on the top right of the display.

2. When the message is complete, 

press  

(Options), select 

, 

key in the recipient’s phone 
number, and press 

 (OK). 

If you want to send the message to 
several persons, select 

, scroll to the first recipient, 

and press 

 (Send). Repeat this 

for each recipient.

When you are using predictive text 
input, the options described in 
“Predictive English text input” on 
page 16 are also available.

When you receive a text message in 
standby mode, you hear a message 
alert tone, and the text messages 
received as well as 

are shown.

 (Read) to view the 

messages right away. To view the 
messages later, press 

 and 

enter the 

 menu (Menu 2-2) 

when you want to do so. 

2. Scroll to the desired message and 

press  

(Read).

3. Use

 to browse through 

the message.

4. While reading the message, you
