• Turn the camera off before connecting or disconnecting

the power adapter.

• The camera automatically switches to AC power adapter-

powered operation when the adapter is plugged into the
camera.

• Use the power adapter when using the camera for ex-

tended periods, such as when connected to a computer.

Turning the Power On

Press and hold the 

 button until the LED indicator begins flashing

green. It takes about 3 seconds to power on the camera.

• Set the date and time after turning on the camera for the

first time.

• The lens barrel will not extend if the camera is turned on

while the Mode dial is set to 

 or Playback 

 modes.

Setting the Date and Time

Turn the mode dial to

Press the down   button until the
DATE/TIME icon 

 is highlighted.

Press 

 to enter the DATE/TIME menu.

Press   /   to change the year.

Press

 to advance to the month

setting. Repeat to set the date and time.

Press   /   to change the date format:
Y/M/D, M/D/Y, or D/M/Y.

Select OK and press 

 to save the new

date and time.
