Each folder can hold up to 999 pictures. If a photo is taken when the current
folder contains a file numbered 0999, the DSC creates a new folder and
stores the new image in the new folder.
ii.
File numbering starts from 0001 when a new folder is created.
File Number Reset
Use File Number Reset if the camera experiences a “FILE NUMBER OVER” error or if
you want to restart file numbering, for example, after erasing all files.

ON:  The camera assigns all subsequent file numbers se-
quentially in ascending order, starting from the last number
used. If a new SD card is inserted in the camera, the file
numbering continues from the last number used.
OFF:  The camera stores the last file number used. When
another SD card is inserted or if a new folder is created, the
file number starts from the lowest number available on that
card.
NOTE:
If the memory card is formatted, the folder number and the
file number are initialized and the count starts from 100 and
0001 respectively regardless of the File No. Reset setting.
