In order to carry out the IP Ping test by using only one D2061, do 
not insert any data into the field and press ENTER. The will set  
automatically the item “Myself “ and will use its own IP address 
as remote IP. 
Ping request number: Insert the number of Ping (Echo) requests. 
Max response time (sec): Maximum response time between Ping requests. The test 
set waits this time before considering the request expired. 
Data field length: Assign data field length of the Ping packet, to verify if the remote is 
reachable a part from the packet length. 
Don’t fragment: Verify if the remote is reachable whether with fragment or not 
fragment packets. 
Trace route: Select “YES” in order to display, in the results, all the IP remote 
addresses met before reaching the destination IP address. Are also provided 
response times for each remote IP address so to verify bottlenecks detected over the 
line. 
Protocol type: Choose the network protocols stack according to the contract. Ask 
the correct configuration to use to your local provider. The protocol types are the 
following: 
•  IP (ROUTER) / (BRIDGE) for IP protocols 
•  IP over PPPoA, for PPP protocols over ATM 
•  IP over PPPoE, for PPP protocols over Ethernet 
IP over PPP is used on links where an initial authentication phase is needed     
Authentication: Assign the authentication mode for IP over PPP protocols. Use 
‘PAP and CHAP’ value to support both modes at same time. 
User Name: Insert the user name for identification. Only for IP over PPP 
Password: Insert the user password. Only for IP over PPP. 
IP address modeDynamic, used only in IP over PPP, sends an assignment request 
of the local IP address. Static, the local IP address is configured manually. 
Local IP: Insert the local IP address. Only in Static mode. 
Subnet mask: Enter the Subnet Mask address to verify if the destination IP is placed 
inside the local network. Only IP BRIDGE, Static.
