Measurement cycles: Set the number of cycle tests the instrument has to carry out
on the network.
Pause between cycles: Set the pause among cycles. Set together with the
measurement cycles.
Protocol type: Choose the network protocols stack according to the contract. Ask
the correct configuration to use to your local provider. The protocol types are the
following:
•  IP (ROUTER) / (BRIDGE) for IP protocols.
•  IP over PPPoA, for PPP protocols over ATM.
•  IP over PPPoE, for PPP protocols over Ethernet.
IP over PPP is used on links where an initial authentication phase is needed.
Authentication: Assign the authentication mode for IP over PPP protocols. With the
value ‘PAP and CHAP’, the device carries out the authentication in one mode and
only if fails, it tries to use the remaining one. This allows to ignore the authentication
protocol used by PPP server.
User Name: Enter the User name for the identification. Only for IP over PPP.
Password: Enter the User password. Only for IP over PPP.
IP address mode: Select the User IP address mode
•  Static: The IP address is manually configured by the User.
•  Dynamic: An assignment request of the User’s IP address is sent to the
Server by using the DHCP protocol. Only for IP over PPP.
Local IP: Enter the local IP address. Only in ‘IP address mode: Static’.
PPP type: Allows to select the PPP protocol simulation type performed by the
device:
•  Client: The D2061 simulates a user terminal, with authentication request to
a remote server.
•  Client + link verify: The device, in Client simulation, sends an echo request
every ten seconds in order to verify if the link is still active.
•  Server: The D2061 simulates a server and allows to verify the
authentication phase coming from a remote terminal.
•  Server + link verify: The device, in Server simulation, sends an echo
request every ten seconds in order to verify if the link is still active.
