The sequence of steps in Getting Started must also be completed when the HX3 returns
from a Cold Boot and when a new OS version is loaded. The wireless client, flash card,

This section’s instructions are based on the assumption that your new device is pre-configured and

Pre-requisites
• A fully charged battery is available.
• Optional add-on devices are available (e.g., headset, ring scanner, hip flip).
• Wireless Client configuration has been completed by the System Administrator.
• Required configured (mappable) keys have been assigned by the System

HX3 Quick Start
1. ActiveSync must be installed on a PC with a USB port.
2. Connect the fully charged battery.
(Always connect a fully charged battery to the mobile
device at the beginning of the shift or workday.)
3. Mount the HX3 in a voice pouch or hip flip.
4. Insert the battery in the voice pouch or hip flip battery sleeve.
5. Attach the ring scanner to the HX3 (optional).
6. Connect the HX3 via a USB-C connection to a desktop PC.
7. Copy LXEConnect setup files from the HX3 to the PC. Install and launch LXEConnect on
the PC.
8. Set up the wireless client and network management programs. Refer to Chapter 5 – Wireless
Network Configuration.
9. Set up mappable keys. Refer to Chapter 3 – System Configuration.
10. Pair Bluetooth devices. Refer to Bluetooth later in this chapter.
11. Save your settings to the Registry. Refer to Saving Settings to the Registry later in this
chapter.
12. Exit LXEConnect and disconnect the ActiveSync connection.
