The total number of bytes that were 

received by the port, including bad or lost frames. This number includes bytes 
contained in the Frame Check Sequence (FCS), but excludes bytes in the preamble.

— The total number of frames received by the port 

that are addressed to a broadcast address.

— The total number of frames received by the port 

that are addressed to a multicast address.

The Summit keeps track of errors for each port.

To view port transmit errors, use the following command:

show port <portlist> txerrors

The following port transmit error information is collected by the switch:

The current status of the link. Options are

Ready — The port is ready to accept a link.

Active — The link is present at this port.

The total number of collisions seen by the port, 

regardless of whether a device connected to the port participated in any of the 
collisions.

The total number of collisions that have 

occurred after the port’s transmit window has expired. 

The total number of frames that were 

transmitted by the port after the first transmission attempt was deferred by other 
network traffic.

The total number of frames that were not 

completely transmitted by the port because of network errors (such as late collisions 
or excessive collisions).

To view port receive errors, use the following command:

show port <portlist> rxerrors
