Serial ATA: A Robust RAID Solution
Serial ATA (SATA) is a point-to-point scalable
interface solution that will, in time, completely
replace Parallel ATA (PATA).  SATA provides
systems that are easier to design, with smaller
cables that are simple to route.  The MegaRAID
SATA 150-4 adapter implements these and
other Serial ATA features, such as hot pluggable
drive support, lower power requirements,
improved airflow for lower operating
temperatures, and complete software
compatibility.

to expand logical drives per array and adapter
is essential.  With FlexRAID, using Online
Capacity Expansion and Online RAID Level
Migration, you can expand the capacity of an
array without shutting down the server operating
system or disturbing the existing data. FlexRAID
also allows you to easily reconfigure a logical
drive to a new RAID level without disrupting the
system or causing data loss.

including BIOS-embedded CTRL-M, character-
based MegaManager, and the graphically
powered Power Console Plus (PCP). These
software utilities provide the capability to
configure, manage, and monitor MegaRAID
SATA 150-4 adapters, physical drives, and
logical drives.
