Heat Bond Tape 4237
Application Method
By hand, using J-Roller for pressure.
Key Application Requirements
High initial and ultimate bond strength, easy to apply, temperature resistant
(-40° to 160º F), resistance to occasional water immersion (rain, washing),
resistant to UV radiation, aesthetically pleasing, long-term durability.
Product or Process Replaced
A mechanical tongue-and groove system was previously used.  The 3M
Heat
Bond Tape 4237 approach provides a more positive moisture and air resistant
seal.
Benefits/Advantages To Customer
Easy to use/quick to apply: The taped profile is installed via a convenient
“peel and stick” attachment method.
Aesthetically pleasing: This bonding method requires no drilling to install,
resulting in no metal corrosion.
Long-lasting: 3M Heat Bond Tape 4237 remains bonded to the EPDM seal
because of the heat lamination at the extruder/laminator.  The taped profile
remains bonded to the access door frame because the viscoelastic properties of
the acrylic foam core absorb the shocks of repeated door closures.
