Application Benefits:
Accounts using a torch-cut process followed by a hard stone product, such as a
Type 27 wheel or grinding stone, prior to welding can reduce potential weld
defects and increase bevel production rates by as much as 3 times using
3M(TM) Fibre Disc 988C. Grinding the bevel with a fibre disc can reduce 2-
steps to a single step. Fibre Disc 988C cuts fast, saves time and leaves a
smooth surface with no pockets or defects in which to trap contaminants, thus
reducing rework.
