❑ 3/8" ratchet set with SAE and metric sockets
❑ 9/16” and 15mm wrenches
❑ Jackstands and jack
❑ Liquid penetrant and rubber lubricant
DISASSEMBLY
1.
Raise vehicle and support with proper
jackstands for the weight, leaving the
suspension hanging.
2.
Use caution around hot exhaust systems to
avoid burns.
3.
Use penetrating oil on all nuts and bolts.
4.
Remove the bolts and clamps from the system
and lubricate the rubber hangers to ease
removal.
5.
Use a long pry bar to pull the rubber hangers off
of the pipe hangers.
6.
Remove the old system. In some cases, you will
find it easier to cut the overaxle pipe to remove
it.
Note: On some vehicles, the removal of the
straight pipe behind the cat-converter will not
be necessary. This can be determined by laying
the cat-back system out next to or under your
truck to compare length.
ASSEMBLY
1.
Install the intermediate pipe (#25-3237) to the
catalytic converter with a 2-3/4” band clamp
and just snug the clamp at this time. I-pipe
should be installed so it raises the exhaust
WARNING: Exhaust gas contains carbon monoxide, a deadly invisible gas.  Correct any leaks before
driving!
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Proper installation is the responsibility of the installer.  Improper installation will void warranty and may
result in poor performance and engine or vehicle damage.
system. Slide wire hanger assembly (#23-4074)
onto intermediate pipe and engage wire into
original front rubber isolator. Leave clamp loose
at this time.
2.
Slip the muffler onto the intermediate pipe with a
3” band clamp on the front. Inlet of muffler is
stamped in the nipple.
3.
Install hanger clamp assembly (#23-4075) onto
outlet end of muffler. Clamp will be offset toward
rear of vehicle, engage hangers into the stock
rubber isolators as you slip it onto the muffler
outlet. U-clamp will be kicked forward on the
hanger clamp assembly. Slip the overaxle pipe
over the rear end and into the muffler outlet,
engage hanger at rear into stock rubber isolator.
4.
Put one 3” band clamp onto outlet of overaxle
pipe, install tailpipe and snug band clamp.
5.
Working from the front of the system, align and
tighten each pipe from the cat-back.
NOTE: The I-pipe can be used to adjust the
exhaust system right, left, up, or down. This can
be done by simply twisting the I-pipe.
6.
Check for clearance to body, frame, and driveline
as you tighten the system from front to rear.
7.
Check for leaks and correct, if any is found.
