Step 1
Disconnect negative battery terminal.
Step 2
Loosen both of the air inlet tube clamps located
on the throttle body and air cleaner, then carefully
set aside the air inlet tube.
Step 3
Unhook throttle cable by opening throttle by hand
and slipping cable from groove.
Step 4
Unplug and remove the Throttle Position Sensor
and Idle Air Solenoid.
Step 5
Install stock Throttle Position Sensor and Idle Air
Solenoid on the new Edelbrock throttle body
using factory hardware.  Be sure to use supplied
plastic bushing on the T.P.S., and a new gasket
(supplied) on the Idle Air Solenoid.
Step 6
Remove four nuts securing old throttle body to
intake.  Remove throttle body and scrape old
gasket and clean all surfaces.  For optimum
performance, match the intake opening to the
new throttle body size.  Although this is not
necessary, it will maximize intake flow.
Step 7
Using the supplied base gasket, install new
throttle body on manifold and secure with factory
nuts.
Step 8
Re-attach throttle cable, throttle position sensor,
idle air solenoid and bypass valve connectors.

Step 9
Re-install flexible hose to throttle body and
airbox.
Step 10
Re-connect the negative battery cable.
Step 11
Be sure the Idle Air Solenoid adjustment screw
(gold colored slot head) is turned clockwise until
it bottoms in its bore.  Do not use too much force
when bottoming screw.
Step 12
Turn throttle stop screw counter-clockwise until
you can see between the screw and the throttle
linkage (if using feeler gauge, .010") then turn
clockwise exactly one full turn.  This should set
the TPS at the factory output voltage.
Step 13
Start engine.  If no idle can be achieved, turn gold
Idle Air Solenoid screw counter-clockwise in
small increments, restarting engine until desired
idle rpm is achieved.  Do not use throttle stop
screw to adjust idle speed.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  If you are using this throttle body with Edelbrock Performer 5.0 intake manifold #3821, you must
use Throttle Body Adapter #3835 to locate the throttle body in the correct position for hood clearance.  You will also need
to use Edelbrock Strut Tower Brace #5225, as the stock strut tower brace will not clear.
