Initializing DVD-RAM Disc
When using DVD-RAM disc for AV applications, it must be initialized: If you want to
erase all data of recorded disc and reuse it, you can initialize it rather than delete the
data.

Cautions:
• If a DVD-RAM disc is initialized, all the recorded movies and stills will be
erased: Be careful not to initialize the disc by mistake.
• Use the AC adapter/charger to power the DVD camera/recorder when
initializing disc. Initialization will not be possible when the battery used to
power the DVD camera/recorder is discharged.

• Initialization with verification may not be possible for discs with severe
scratches or dirt: Such discs cannot be used.
1. Insert the DVD-RAM disc with the side you want to initialize fac-
ing the outside (facing the hand strap), and then turn the DVD
camera/recorder on.

2. After recognition of the disc is complete, press the DISC NAVI-
GATION button.
3. Press the MENU button.
The Disc Navigation menu screen will appear.
