Before You Call For Service…

PROBLEM

SURFACE UNITS
• Improper cookware being used. Use pans which are absolutely

• Improper cookware being used. The glass cooktop surfaces may seem

hotter than you are used to. This is normal. Use pans which are 
absolutely flat.
SURFACE UNITS 
• A fuse in your home may be blown or the circuit breaker tripped. 
DO NOT WORK 
Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. 
PROPERLY
• Cooktop controls improperly set. Check to see that the 
correct control is set for the surface unit you are using.
SCRATCHES 
• Incorrect cleaning methods have been used. Scratches are not
(may appear as cracks) 
removable. Tiny scratches will become less visible in time as a

GLASS SURFACE
• Cookware with rough bottoms being used or coarse particles (salt 
or sand) were between the cookware and the surface of the cooktop. 
Cookware has been slid across the cooktop surface. To avoid 
scratches, use the recommended cleaning procedures. Make sure 
bottoms of cookware are clean before use, and use cookware with 
smooth bottoms.

PLASTIC MELTED
• Hot cooktop came into contact with plastic placed on the hot cooktop.
