OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR QUARTZ CHIME
PENDULUM WALL CLOCK
Please read and follow these instructions step by step in setting up
your clock to insure proper operation and long lasting enjoyment.
REMOVAL OF PACKING MATERIAL: Carefully remove all pack-
ing material from inside and outside of clock. Save all packing
material for possible future use.
LOCATING CLOCK: Hang clock on wall in desired location. It is
recommended that clock be mounted to a wall stud if possible.
INSTALL BATTERIES: Insert 2 “C” cell batteries into battery com-
partment. Alkaline type batteries are recommended. Be sure to
observe correct battery polarity.
You may hear a chime sequence when the batteries are inserted.
You may also notice that the chimes are not synchronized to the
correct time for the first hour after setting the time. The time/chime
synchronization will be fine within the next full hour.
SET TIME: Turn the time set knob on rear of movement in either
direction to the correct time.
STRIKE AND CHIME FEATURE: Strike and Chime Models are
designed to play the familiar “WESTMINSTER CHIME” as well as
strike the hour and half hour. On the rear of the movement you will
see switches with the following functions:
Melody: Switch has O, W, B symbols. O is to shut off the chime
function entirely, W is Westminster chime, and B is for Bim-Bam
half hour and hour count striking.
Night shutoff: With the day/night switch (sun/moon symbols), you
can silence the chimes for an 8 hour period. By setting the switch
to the moon position with the slash through it, you can silence the
chimes for an 8 hour period starting with the next hour. Ex. At 9:15
PM, you set the switch to the moon with the slash, the chimes will
silence at 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM everyday thereafter as long as
the switch is in this position. If the switch is placed back to the sun
position, your clock will chime at the next full hour for the full 24
hour period each day. Setting the switch to the quarter moon posi-
tion without a slash will reduce the chime volume to about 1/2 the
volume of the day time chimes for a period of 8 hours daily.
Volume Control: The volume of the chimes can be adjusted by
turning this knob.
Chime Selector: By setting this switch to the upper position, the
chimes will function progressively every 1/4 hour and count the
hour. In the lower position, your clock will play the 4/4 chime
melody at the hour and count the hours.
PENDULUM: Hang Pendulum on the pendulum hanger as illus-
trated. Gently start the pendulum swinging.
Your clock cabinet has been carefully finished at the factory and
we recommend that you dust it only. However, if you desire to use
furniture polish, use only polishes that do not contain silicone.
