Exchange r11.5  Mail-In Rebate Offer 
 
OFFER PERIOD:  September 12, 2005 – November 30, 2005  
Purchases of eligible CA BrightStor ARCserve Backup Protection Suite for Exchange r11.5 SKUs must be made between 
September 12, 2005 and November 30, 2005 to qualify. Purchases made prior to September 12, 2005, or after November 30, 
2005, do not qualify. 
 
ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS 
Eligible participants are CA end user customers, 18 years of age or older, who reside in the continental United States or 
Canada. CA Distributors, resellers and their sales representatives, employees and funded heads of CA, or their promotional 
agencies, and their respective families are not eligible for this Rebate Offer.  
 
MAIL-IN REBATE OFFER 
Eligible end users who purchase any eligible BrightStor ARCserve Backup Protection Suite for Exchange r11.5 product SKUs 
(as listed on the Eligible Product SKU Chart) during the promotional timeframe can receive a $250 Rebate per qualified 
purchase. There is a maximum rebate of $3,000 per person/company. All rebates are paid in US dollars.  
 
ELIGIBLE PRODUCTS 
Eligible purchases include select CA BrightStor ARCserve Backup Protection Suite for Exchange r11.5 product SKUs (as listed 
on the Eligible Product SKU Chart) which are purchased as Boxed Product or via CA’s OLP, GLP or MLP only. See the Eligible 
Product SKU Chart on page 2 of the Rebate Coupon. Purchases of other SKUs (including regular product upgrades and 
competitive product upgrades) that are NOT listed on the chart, do NOT qualify and will NOT be accepted for this rebate offer. 
 
 
HOW TO SUBMIT REBATE CLAIMS 
Eligible end users (individuals or companies) must submit a legible, fully completed
 
Rebate Coupon, together with the 
required proof-of-purchase documentation (as listed on the rebate coupon). All sales receipts must clearly show a sale date, 
where the product was purchased, the sale quantity and a SKU number or product description. Failure to supply proper proof-
of-purchase will result in denial of your rebate claim. For multiple purchases, you may submit one Rebate Coupon (list the 
total amount of all purchases on the Rebate Coupon), but you must attach the required proof-of-purchase documentation for 
all rebates claimed. Rebate claims must be submitted NO LATER THAN 45 DAYS after the sale date.  
 
Mail the completed Rebate Coupon together with the required proof-of-purchase documentation to: CA ARCserve Backup 
Protection Suite Rebate Offer, PO Box 463, Syosset, NY 11791-0463 
within 45 days of the sale date. All rebate 
claims must be postmarked no later than 45 after the sale date. To confirm receipt of your rebate coupon, or if you have

Receipt of rebate claim does not guarantee compliance or eligibility. Please keep a copy of your documents for your records. 
CA is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail by the delivery or postal service. 
 
REBATE CLAIM VERIFICATION 
All rebate claims will be verified against multiple reports. Licensing sales will be verified against CA’s licensing database and 
the date reflected in CA’s reporting will be considered the official "purchase date" of the order. These reports will also 
determine the official quantity of the order, regardless of quantities shown on receipts provided by claimant.
 
Sales will also be 
verified against CA’s returned merchandise report. If the eligible product purchased has been returned (and another qualifying 
product purchase has not replaced it), then the rebate will NOT be paid. Filing false claims may result in prosecution.  
 
REBATE CLAIM DEADLINE  
Eligible rebate claims must be postmarked by or received at CA Promotional Headquarters within 45 days of the actual sale 
date. The last date that claims will be accepted is January 15, 2006 (for purchases made on November 30, 2005). Rebate claims 
received after the 45 day deadline period will not be paid.
  
 
REBATE PAYMENT 
Payment of approved rebate claims will be mailed within 10-12 weeks after receipt of claim. All rebate claims will be paid by 
check, in US dollars and mailed via regular first class mail. Checks are valid for 3 months after date of issue. Lost or misplaced 
rebate checks may be reissued (after a 2 week waiting period) but are subject to a $50 stop payment/reissue handling charge. 
 
OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS 
Void where taxed, prohibited or restricted  
by law. CA reserves the right to request additional information for purchase verification. CA reserves the rights to alter, 
amend, cancel or extend this rebate offer at any time without notice. All decisions by CA
 
and/or their promotional agencies
