Symantec™ Desktop and Laptop Option 7.5
Automated file protection for desktops and laptops
Data Sheet: Backup and Disaster Recovery
Overview
With the majority of business-critical information residing
outside of the data center or off corporate servers, protection
for desktops and laptops is a must. The Symantec™ Desktop
and Laptop Option is an easy-to-use solution which provides
reliable automated file backup and recovery for desktops and
laptops from the market leader in data protection. Whether
desktops and laptops are connected to the network or offline,
the Desktop and Laptop Option provides continuous data
protection regardless of their connectivity.
Files can be backed up continuously, on a schedule, or
manually providing the safety and security of knowing that
data stored on desktops and laptops is protected and
recoverable in minutes in the event of data loss or system
failure. Not only improving data protection and efficiency, this
option enables users to restore their own files and maintains
synchronization between multiple desktops and laptops so the
most up-to-date file versions are available on all of a user's
computers. Because the Desktop and Laptop Option does not
require a dedicated stand-alone server as competing products
do, it easily integrates into an organization's existing IT
infrastructure and policies, helping lower the total cost of
ownership.
