Warning:
Never use a telescope to look at the sun! Looking at or
near the sun will cause instant and irreversible damage
to your eye. Eye damage is often painless, so there is no
warning to the observer that damage has occurred until
it is too late. Do not point the telescope or its viewfinder
at or near the sun. Do not look through the telescope
or its viewfinder as it is moving. Children should always
have adult supervision while observing.
Parts listing
Please check while unpacking, if all parts are complete:
1 Objektiv lens
2 Tripod with accessory tray
3 Telescope mounting arm with clamp
4 Telescope tube with dust cover (X)
5 LED Viewfinder
6 Eyepiece 25 mm
7 Eyepiece 9 mm
8 Diagonal mirror
9 Barlow lens 2x
Setting up
It is recommended to do the first set-up while daytime;
later, if you are used to the single steps, you may easily set up the
telescope even after sunset.
1. Spread the tripod (2) legs until the tripod spreaders are in level
(Fig. 2). Afterwards, put the accessory tray(12) in place and
lock it by turning by 60°. Now you can set the tripod height by
adjusting the single legs with their locking clamps (13).
2. Drive the mounting arm (3) from above into the mount hole (14) at
the tripod head (Fig. 3) and lock it with the black screw (15).
3. Set the telescope tube (4) with the threaded bolts from the left
into the clamp (16) so that the bolts fit into the clamp’s holes
(Fig. 4). Then screw the black locking nuts (17) and tighten
them to a firm feel.
4. At last, put the LED viewfinder (5) from back in its holder
(18) and an eyepiece into the drawtube (19) (Fig. 5).
Operation / Observing
Your telescope is designed for astro nomical observations.
First, remove the dust cover (X) from the objective lens.
The single accessories for the draw tube (back side) have
following functions:
• The diagonal mirror (8) allows, depending to the telescopes
angle, a more comfortable 90°-angle-view. It fits directly into
the drawtube (19); the following accessories are put into the
diagonal mirror. Lock each accessory with the locking screw (20).
• The 2x Barlow lens (9) multiplies the magnification of every
eyepiece by two (see technical data). It is placed between the
diadonal mirror (8) and eyepiece (6,7).
If now an eyepiece (it is best to start with the lowest
magnification) is put in place, you may now adjust the focus
with the drawtube’s wheel (21). Please keep in mind that heat
turbulences in the air are also magnified. In warm conditions,
it can be useful to limit observations to medium magnifications.
The LED pointer (5) is activated by sliding the switch (22) on
its right side; there are two intensities available. Before the first
observation, the viewfinder has to be aligned to the telescope. For
this, point a striking target (e.g. telephone pole) with the telescope’s
eyepiece. Now, wit hout moving the telescope, switch on the
viewfinder and adjust the red dot with the both adjustment screws
(left (24) and bottom (23) side) until it fits to the eyepiece’s view.
Now the viewfinder is aligned and ready to point for the tele scope.
Hint:
Don’t forget to switch it off after use!
To point the telescoep at a target, turn the knobs (3a)
and (3c). They move the telescope’s tube in elevation and
azimuth. The settings can be locked by slightly tightening the
elevation ( 3b) and azimuth (3d) locking screw.
Cleaning / Maintenance
Your telescope should, like every optical instrument, be
treated with care and stored dry. Doing so will maintain its
optical performance for many years. After using, the dust
cover (X) should be closed after dew has dried off. The
lenses can be cleaned with a soft brush available from
photo stores. Don’t ever use sharp detergents like
gasoline or thinner to clean the optics!
The viewfinder’s LED is powered by a battery type CR-
2032 (3V); if a replacement is necessary, it is drawn out by
spreading the holding spring (25) down. Please keep in mind
that a new battery has to be placed with the positive (+) side
downwards!
