Standard Resolution, Colour video
camera with 1/3 Type Super HAD™
CCD, AC 220-240 volt
The SSC-DC198P offers dependably, high pic-
ture quality and sensitivity with a stylish, light-
weight, compact design.
The Sony SSC-DC198P offers high picture quality with a
resolution of 330TV lines at a competitive price. By incor-
porating Sony’s Super HAD™ CCD technology a remark-
ably high sensitivity of 0.6 lux at F1.2 (50 IRE, AGC ON)
is possible and an excellent signal-to-noise ration of bet-
ter than 50dB can be achieved.
In addition the SSC-DC198P has other great features
such as backlight compensation, Turbo AGC, ATW, incor-
porated DSP, CCD Iris™, and a new stylish, compact
design. The SSC-DC198P operates on AC 220-240 volt.
Features
Horizontal resolution of 330 TV lines
The SSC-DC198P camera incorporates a 1/3 type IT Su-
per HAD™ CCD with an outstanding resolution of 330 TV
lines.
High sensitivity
Sony Super HAD™ CCD offers high sensitivity from the
use of an improved microlens over each pixel of the CCD,
so that a light level of only 0.6 lux at F1.2 (50 IRE, AGC
ON) is required to obtain excellent picture results.
Automatic White Balance
The SSC-DC198P camera incorporates a wide-range
ATW function. It adjusts the white balance automatically
in response to the light conditions. The usable range of
2,000 K to 10,000 K allows the camera to be used under
a wide variety of light conditions, including high-pressure
sodium discharge lamps that are frequently used for light-
ing streets, car parks and industrial areas.
BLC (Backlight Compensation)
The SSC-DC198P camera can automatically compensate
for backlight conditions by switching on the Back Light
Compensation (BLC) mode, which is centre measured.
The BLC mode is on/off switchable.
Turbo AGC
The SSC-DC198P camera is equipped with an advanced
Turbo AGC function. This boosts the range of the cam-
era’s AGC by up to 24 dB so that a subject under low illu-
mination can be distinguished more clearly. The Turbo
AGC is on/off switchable.
CCD IRIS™ function
This function allows the use of an inexpensive manual iris
lens instead of a more costly automatic iris lens. As the
scene illumination level varies, this camera compensates
by automatically changing the exposure time of the photo
sensors. This is achieved by varying the electronic shutter
speed of the CCD over a range or 1/50 to 1/100,000 of a
second.
CS-mount
The camera can be used with CS-mount lenses and pre-
cise back-focus adjustment can be easily accomplished.
C-Mount lenses also can be used with a C-mount
adapter.
Incorporated DSP
The incorporated DSP (Digital Signal Processing) gives
high image quality and stability assuring a long life. Offer-
ing a level of reliability that cannot be achieved with ana-
logue signal processing.
AC 220-240 volt operation
The SSC-DC198P operates on AC 220-240 volt.
