1.7 Terminal clamps
Insert now the screw terminals in the corresponding positions on the circuit board
and solder the connection pins cleanly on the side of the conducting paths.
Owing to the larger ground plane and terminal clamp, the solder joint must be
heated here for longer than normal, till the tin flows properly and forms a clean
solder joint.
2 x terminal clamp 2-pin
1 x terminal clamp 3-pin

1.8  Light-emitting diodes (LEDs)
Solder now the LEDs (as shown in the Figure) in the circuit with the correct
polarity. The shorter contact pins indicate the cathode. If one views the LED
against light, one can see the cathode at the larger electrode inside the LED. On
the printed side of the circuit board the position of the cathode is marked by a
thick line in the casing outline of the light-emitting diode. Solder at first only one
contact pin of the diodes, so that they can be aligned exactly. After this is done,
solder then the second connection.

If there is no unique marking on an LED or else you have doubts about the
correct polarity (since many manufacturers use different marking systems), then
it can be determined through trial and error.
1.9 Voltage regulator
The integrated voltage regulator is now inserted in the openings provided and the
contact pins are soldered on the soldering side of the board.
Note thereby the position of IC1! The casing outlines of the IC must match those
given on the printed side of the circuit board.
