Submitting Jobs 
Jobs may be submitted to the ACS service machine in several ways. 
 1. One method is to use ACS EXEC. This method does not require that the sender 
knows the protocol or the name/node of the ACS service machine. It is the 
recommended technique. 
EXEC ACS SUBMIT fname ftype fmode class 
fname
the CMS filename of the job file. 
ftype
the CMS filetype of the job file. If omitted, it defaults to ‘SLKJCL’. 
fmode
the CMS filemode of the job file. If omitted, it defaults to ‘‘*’’. 
class
the job class desired. If omitted, it defaults to ‘‘U’’. 
Note: These jobs must be submitted in job class L:
• HSC startup (HSCINIT, SLSBINIT) 
• RECONFIG 
 2. From a virtual machine on the same host: 
CP SPOOL PUN acsname NOCONT NOHOLD CLASS class 
PUNCH fname ftype fmode (NOHeader 
acsname
the name of the ACS service machine 
 3. From a virtual machine on another network node: 
CP SPOOL PUN RSCS NOCONT NOHOLD CLASS class
