 Scan inside archives - (switched on, by default): t his paramet ers defines t hat

t he scanning should check all files even if t hese are packed inside some t ype
of archive, e.g. ZIP, RAR, ...

 Use Heuristics - (switched on, by default): heurist ic analysis (dynamic

emulation of the scanned object’s instructions in a virtual computer
environment) will be one of t he met hods used for virus det ect ion during
scanning;

 Scan system environment - (switched on, by default): scanning will also

check t he syst em areas of your computer;

 Scan for rootkits - t ick t his it em if you want  t o include t he root kit  det ect ion int o

scanning of t he ent ire computer. The root kit  det ect ion is also available on it s own
wit hin t he 

 component ;

 Scan infectable files only - (switched off, by default): wit h t his opt ion

switched on, scanning will not be applied t o files t hat cannot get infect ed.
These can be for inst ance some plain t ext  files, or some other non-execut able
files.

Wit hin t he Scan process priority sect ion you can furt her specify t he desired scanning
speed dependent  on syst em resource usage.  By default , t his opt ion value is set t o
t he medium level of aut omat ic resource usage. If you want t he scanning t o run fast er,
it  will t ake less t ime but syst em resources usage will increase significant ly during its
run, and will slow down your ot her act ivities on t he PC  (this option can be used when
your computer is switched on but nobody is currently working on it). On t he other
hand, you can decrease syst em resources usage by ext ending t he scanning durat ion. 

Note: By default, the scanning configuration is set up for optimum performance.
Unless you have a valid reason to change the scanning  settings it is highly
recommended to stick to the predefined configuration. Any configuration changes
should be performed by experienced users only. For further scanning configuration
