relevant st at ist ical dat a:

 Latest update - specifies when and at  what  t ime t he dat abase was updat ed

 Virus database version - defines t he number of t he lat est  virus dat abase

version; and t his number increases wit h every virus base update

In t he bott om part  of t he dialog you can find t he Update Manager settings sect ion
where you can perform some changes t o t he rules of t he update process launch. You
can define whether you wish t he update files t o be downloaded aut omatically (Start
automatic updates) or just on demand. By default , t he Start automatic updates
opt ion is swit ched on and we recommend t o keep it t hat  way!  Regular download of
t he latest  update files is crucial for proper funct ionalit y of any securit y soft ware! 

Further you can define when t he update should be launched:

Periodically  - define t he t ime interval

o

At a specific time - define t he exact  day and t ime

By default, t he updat e is set  for every 4 hours. It is highly recommended t o keep t his
set t ing unless you have a t rue reason t o change it !

Please note: The software vendor has set up all AVG components to give optimum
performance. Unless you have a real reason to do so, do not change the AVG
configuration. Any changes to settings should only be  performed by an experienced
user. If you need to change AVG configuration, select the system menu item Tools /
Advanced settings and edit the AVG configuration in the newly opened
