On t he How to scan t ab you will find a list  of scanning paramet ers t hat  can be
opt ionally switched on/off. By default, most paramet ers are swit ched on and t he
funct ionalit y will be applied during scanning. Unless you have a valid reason t o change
t hese set t ings we recommend t o keep t o t he pre-defined configurat ion:

 Automatically heal/remove infection - (switched on, by default): if a virus

is ident ified during scanning it can be healed aut omatically if a cure is available
. In case t he infect ed file cannot  be healed automat ically, or if you decide t o
switch off t his option, you will be notified upon a virus det ect ion and will have
t o decide what  t o do wit h t he detect ed infect ion. The recommended act ion is
t o remove t he infect ed file t o t he

 Scan Potentially Unwanted Programs - (switched on, by default): t his

parameter cont rols t he 

 funct ionality t hat  allows 

 (executable files that can run as spyware or

adware) and t hese can t hen be  blocked, or removed;

 Scan for Tracking Cookies - (switched on, by default): t his paramet er of t he

 component  defines t hat  cookies should be  detect ed during

scanning (HTTP cookies are used for authenticating, tracking, and maintaining
specific information about users, such as site preferences or the contents of
their electronic shopping carts) ;
