EICAR t est. 

The EICAR t est  is a standard and absolutely safe method used t o t est  ant ivirus system
funct ioning. It is safe t o pass around, because it  is not an act ual virus, and does not
include any fragment s of viral code. Most product s react  t o it  as if it were a virus (
though they typically report it with an obvious name, such as "EICAR-AV-Test"). You
