If you are using the side channel outputs of your Citation 7.0 controller, leave these channels connected
directly to the side channel amplifier inputs.  These channels will not be used for Dolby Digital playback
of the ADP 303 digital processor.  They will, however, still be used for all playback of 2 channel modes
such as 6 AXIS, 70 MM, Dolby, and THX .

If your system side channel speaker locations are behind the primary listening position, you may elect to
route the side channel outputs of the 7.0 processor through the ADP 303.  In this scenario, the back
outputs of the 7.0 processor will remain directly connected to your amplifier inputs and will not be used
for Dolby Digital playback.

2.  CONNECTING SUB-WOOFERS

If you are using sub-woofers, the ADP 303 may be configured for a mono sub-woofer only.  You should
configure the 7.0 A/V Controller to also use the mono sub-woofer output.  If your system uses two Sub-
woofers,  connect a “Y” adapter to the sub out of the ADP 303 to drive left and right sub-woofer
channels.

The ADP includes high pass filters which are engaged on the back of the unit.  For most speaker
configurations, switch this “speaker mode” setting to “small” on all channels.  The “small” position
should be used for all Citation speaker combinations.

Sub-woofer levels on the ADP 303 are adjusted by ear.  Caution should be used when adjusting this
control point.  Too high of a bass level will cause your sub-woofers to “POP” or worse, damage your sub-
woofers.  Start the level in the full counter clockwise position and slowly raise it to the desired bass level.

3.  CALIBRATION

The calibration of the ADP 303 is performed independently of the Citation 7.0  A/V Controller.  After the
7.0 is connected and calibrated, follow the instructions included with the ADP 303 for proper set up and
calibration of the digital processor.  The maximum output level should closely match the reference level
of the 7.0 A/V Controller.  We recommend the use of a SPL meter to accurately set up and match audio
levels of the two units.

4.   USING the ADP 303

For Dolby Digital Playback, the ADP 303 should be “ON” and the appropriate input selected on the ADP
303. Volume control is adjusted manually on the front panel of the ADP303.

When 6 AXIS or any other matrix surround mode is in use, the ADP 303 will be  in a “By-pass” mode
and the 7.0 will operate as if the ADP 303 was not in the circuit. “By Pass” is accessed on the ADP 303
by pressing the “By-pass” button located on the ADP 303 front panel.   The ADP 303 will also be in the
“By-Pass” mode when the “Power” to the unit is “OFF”.  You will hear a popping sound when “By-pass”
is engaged and disengaged.  This is normal and does not reflect a problem with your unit or installation.

During Dolby Digital playback, the 7.0 should be selected to the appropriate input for video switching
purposes and the volume level should be set all the way down.  This is necessary if both side and back
channels of the 7.0 are used in the system.
