Remove the DFC from the Cisco AS5400
Caution
Avoid touching any pins or circuit board components during removal and installation of a DFC.
Step 10
After you remove the DFC, set it aside on an ESD-preventive mat.
Step 11
If the DFC slot is to remain empty, install a blank cover over the open DFC slot to ensure proper airflow 
inside the chassis. (See 
Figure 5-8

The following output is an example of online insertion and removal of a universal port DFC in slot 3:
