The Sign On feature of the emulator uses the "Enhanced Display Auto-Signon and Password Encryption" feature of 
the AS/400 to allow a secure connection to the AS/400 without using SSL. 
 

 

For this feature to work to your benefit, the "Remote Signon" parameter of the AS/400 configuration should be 
enabled. To verify if this parameter is enabled, use the WRKSYSVAL command.  To enable this parameter, you 
may use the following command: 
CHGSYSVAL SYSVAL(QRMTSIGN) VALUE('*VERIFY')
