X Flow Of Receiving Faxes
The operation flow of receiving faxes is as follows:
NOTE
• You have to connect a telephone to the external device jack when you set <MANUAL MODE>, <FAX/TEL
AUTO SW
> or <DRPD>.
• You have to connect an answering machine to the external device jack when you set <ANS.MACHINE
MODE
>.

Load paper in the multi-purpose tray. (See page 27)
Select the receive mode.
zIf you want to receive faxes automatically as well as voice calls:
<FAX/TEL AUTO SW> (See page 105)
zIf you want to receive only faxes automatically with your machine, or
you have a dedicated telephone line for fax use only:
<FAX ONLY MODE> (See page 105)
<FAX ONLY MODE> (See page 105)
zIf you have subscribed to a Distinctive Ring Pattern Detection (DRPD)
service with your telephone company:

zIf you receive mainly voice calls and sometimes faxes, or you want to
receive faxes manually:
