Monitoring a Channel
Pressing 

F

 lets you hear the radio’s volume level when you are not receiving so you 

can adjust the volume. It is also lets you check activity on the current channel before 
talking. 

Time-Out Timer
The time-out timer helps extend battery life by preventing accidental transmission. 
The radio emits a continuous warning tone if 

A

 is pressed for 60 continuous 

seconds. The radio then stops transmitting.

Locking the Keypad
To avoid accidentally changing radio operation, you can lock the keypad.  When the 
keypad is locked, the 

G

button does not work.  You will no longer be able to change 

the call tone, channel, or interference eliminator code

.

1. Press and hold 

G

 for 3 

seconds. 

A 

O

 appears on the display, indicating the 

keypad is locked.
