Intended Use
The product is intended for the conversion of sunlight into electrical power. Due to the practical
design, the product is easy to transport. An integrated adjustable foot enables an optimum
alignment towards the sun.
To operate consumer loads via the product, a suitable solar charge controller and an appropri-
ate buffer battery are required.
Using a sliding switch the product can be operated and used on solar charge controllers with
a voltage of 12 V or 24 V.
Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included in these operating
instructions.
This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements. All names of

 a)
General

•  The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not allowed
because of safety reasons.

•  The product is not a toy; keep it away from children.

•   Do not leave the packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become
a dangerous plaything for children.

•  The covers of the solar case contain magnets which are used to lock the product.
Therefore, keep e.g. clocks, magnetic data carriers (for example, bank card with
magnetic strip) away from the product.

•  Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.

b) Installation location

•  Choose an appropriate mounting place. It has to be stable, level and suffi ciently
large.

Furthermore, you have to make sure there is direct solar irradiation at the mount-
ing location to ensure an optimum power output.

•  Install the product in such a way that it cannot be tripped over. The same applies
to the positioning of the connection cables.

Make sure the cables cannot be damaged by sharp edges.

• The product must not get damp or wet.

•  Do not place the product on sensitive surfaces without using suffi cient protection,
as this can cause scratches or pressure marks.
 c)
Operation

•   To operate the product, a suitable charge controller, and where applicable, a buffer
accumulator are required.

•  Using the sliding switch, always select the suitable nominal voltage (12 V or 24 V)
for the charge controller used.

•   If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our
technical service or another specialist.
Getting Started
•   Open the solar case. The two halves are held together only by a magnetic lock.
•   On the rear of the solar case there are two fold-out and height-adjustable feet. Align the solar
cells towards the sun. Depending on the position of the sun, adjust the inclination using the
feet.
•  Select the corresponding nominal voltage with the sliding switch (at the bottom, near the
cable compartment) for the charge controller used.
•  Unwind the connection cable completely.
To operate consumer loads, a suitable charge controller is required (at the time of creation
of this operating manual, the best suitable product was e.g. item no. 856345 (for 12 V), not
included in the delivery, must be ordered separately) and where applicable, a buffer accumu-
lator (e.g. a suitable solar lead accumulator).
The connection cables enclosed can be connected to the output of the charge controller and
are used to connect a load.
•   The blue LED next to the sliding switch fl ashes to indicate and control the functioning when
suffi cient sunlight shines onto the solar module.
•   Align the product several times per day so that you are able to use the sunlight for power
production in an optimum way.
•   If you don’t use the product any longer, clean it thoroughly before you wind up the cable (ca-
ble compartment at the bottom in the solar case) and then close it. Select a storage location
that is dry, clean and free of dust.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Maintenance or repair may be performed only by qualifi ed personnel or a specialised repair
shop. The product contains no parts that require servicing. Therefore, do not dismantle it.
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not press too strongly onto the casing or the inte-
grated solar module as this will lead to scratch marks or damage to the product.

Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions,
since these could damage the housing or even impair operation.
Disposal
Dispose of the product at the end of its serviceable life in accordance with the
current statutory requirements; e. g. return it to any suitable collection point.
