Location Data

 

R To disable geotagging, select OFF for U GEOTAGGING SET-UP > GEOTAGGING. 

The information displayed by the camera (latitude and longitude, place-names, or 
none) can be selected using 

U GEOTAGGING SET-UP > LOCATION INFO.

 

Q The camera uses the most recently downloaded data; if you have changed your 

location since you last took a picture, download data for the current location before 
shooting.  Note that the camera automatically stops recording location data three 
hours after the last update.

 

Q Place names are current as of the date on which the landmark database was cre-

ated (

P 145) and will not be updated to refl ect any changes after that date.

 

Q Place name data are unavailable in some countries and regions. If no name is avail-

able, the latitude and longitude will be displayed for a few seconds.

■  Viewing Location Data
During playback, pictures for which location data exist are 
indicated by a 

k icon.  Location data are shown for a few 

seconds each time the picture is displayed.
