Connecting the AC power adapter does not allow
you to charge the AA-size nickel-metal hydride
batteries. To charge the AA-size nickel-metal
hydride batteries, you must use the optional charger
(
➡P.71).
Check that the camera is switched off. Plug the AC
power adapter connector into the “DC IN 3V”
socket and then plug the AC power adapter into the
power outlet.
!
The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and
shall be easily accessible.
!
The shape of the plug and socket-outlet depends on the
country of use.
1 Load an xD-Picture Card
containing
photographed images into your camera. Plug the
AC power adapter connector into the DC IN 3V
socket on the camera and then plug the adapter
itself into the main power outlet.
2 Slide the power switch to the side to turn the
camera on.
3 Set the “USB MODE” setting in the “SET–UP”
menu to “
” (
➡P.50).
4 Slide the Power switch to the side to turn the
camera off.
!
It is recommended that you use the AC Power Adapter AC-
3V (sold separately) or the AC Power Adapter AC-3VW
bundled with the cradle (sold separately) for the connection.
Constant power supply will prevent successful data transfer
from trouble caused by power supply.
5 Switch your PC on.
6 Use the included USB cable to connect the
camera to your computer.
7 Switch the camera on.

Use only the FUJIFILM “AC Power Adapter AC-3V” or the “AC Power Adapter AC-3VW” bundled
with the PictureCradle CP-FXA10 (
➡P.71).
Use the AC power adapter to avoid losing power at inconvenient times, such as when you are
downloading photographed images to your computer. Using the AC power adapter also allows you
to take pictures and play back images without worrying about depleting the batteries.
!
See P.73 for notes on using the AC power adapter.
!
If you are using the optional cradle, you must use the AC power adapter bundled with the cradle. The use of AC power
adapters other than the bundled product will cause faults.
!
Only connect or disconnect the AC power adapter when the camera is switched off.
Connecting or disconnecting the AC power adapter while the camera is switched on temporarily interrupts the power
supply to the camera, so that images or movies being shot at the time are not recorded. Failing to switch the camera off
first can also result in damage to the xD-Picture Card or malfunctions during PC connection.
