Focus.
Press the shutter button halfway to focus. If the flash will fire,
X will be displayed
when the shutter button is pressed halfway. At slow shutter speeds,
0 will appear in
the display to warn that pictures may be blurred; use of a tripod is recommended.

Press the shutter button the rest of the way down to shoot.

Red-Eye Removal
When Intelligent Face Detection is active (pg. 23), and ON is selected for
a RED EYE REMOVAL
in the setup menu (pg. 72), red-eye removal is available in
V, U, and Z. Red-eye removal
minimizes “red-eye” caused when light from the flash is reflected from the subject’s retinas as
shown in the illustration at right.
