AVM’s Stick & Surf technology ensures secure communication with any FRITZ!Box 
WLAN that has a USB host port, with no interactive configuration on the PC. By 
connecting the stick to the USB host port for a moment, it automatically copies the 
FRITZ!Box’s security settings, including WLAN key and encryption type. The stick 
automatically establishes a safe wireless connection the moment it is plugged into 
the PC.

The AVM FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick’s control software allows the users to adjust 
settings to individual situations, and controls the network connection. It also allows 
users to reduce the WLAN stick’s transmitter power, if desired, since maximum power 
is not necessary in many environments. AVM access points offer similar settings: 
for example, their transmitter power can be throttled back to as little as six per cent 
of its maximum. Sophisticated power management reduces the USB stick’s power 
consumption drastically, contributing to longer running time on battery power.
