Setup from the Printer Panel and WebSetup
Completing setup from Fiery WebSetup
After you have performed an initial Setup from the printer panel (
), you must complete the process of configuring Setup options 
using Fiery WebSetup, one of the Fiery WebTools. You can also use 
Fiery WebSetup to remotely view and modify Setup options later. 
Before you can access the Fiery WebTools, you must complete the 
following:
Initial Setup, specifically, setting the printer’s IP address, and subnet mask 
as well as its gateway from the printer panel; 
The procedures described in “Setting up Fiery WebTools” on this page.
Fiery WebTools allow you to manage your KX-PS8100 remotely from the 
Internet or from your company’s intranet. The KX-PS8100 has its own home 
page, from which you are able to select from a variety of functions including 
Status, Fiery WebSpooler, WebLink, Fiery WebDownloader, and 
Fiery WebSetup.
IMPORTANT:
Before you can send jobs to the printer, you must use Fiery WebSetup to 
complete the process of configuring Setup options, as described starting 
on 
For information on using Fiery WebTools (other than Fiery WebSetup), see 
Utilities and Drivers Reference Guide on the KX-PS8100 CD-ROM Disc2.
In order for network users to access and use Fiery WebTools, you need to 
set network communication options in Network Protocol Setup on the 
printer panel. You also need to prepare each user’s workstation to 
communicate with the printer using Fiery WebTools over the Internet or 
intranet. Once the initial Setup has been performed from the printer panel, 
you must complete the Setup configuration from Fiery WebSetup.
In order for client workstations to access Fiery WebTools, they must use a 
Web browser. The recommended browser versions are:
Netscape Navigator 3.04 for Macintosh computers,
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0.1 SP1 or Netscape Communicator 4.0.4 
for Windows computers.
