Basic Setup
A language-selection dialog is displayed the fi rst time the camera is turned on.  Set up the camera as 
described below (for information on resetting the clock or changing languages, see page 64).

highlight the year, month, day, 
hour, or minute and press up 
or down to change.  To change 
the order in which the year, month, and 
day are displayed, highlight the date for-
mat and press the selector up or down.

  Check the battery type.
A confi rmation message for the battery type 
to be used appears.
Alkaline batteries are selected by default.
2  Tip: The Camera Clock
If the batteries are removed for an extended period, the camera clock will be reset and the language-selection 
dialog will be displayed when the camera is turned on.  If the batteries are left in the camera for about two hours, 
they can be removed for about twenty four hours without resetting the clock or language selection.
