Using the Menus: Shooting Mode

W MOVIE SET-UP

Adjust movie settings.

Choose a frame size for movies.

 

i 1920 × 1080 (60 fps) Full HD (High Defi nition).

 

h 1280 × 720 (60 fps)

High Defi nition.

 

f 640 × 480 (30 fps)

Standard defi nition.

 

k 640 × 480 (120 fps)

High speed movie.  Sound is not recorded, and focus, 
exposure, and white balance are not adjusted auto-
matically.  Black bands appear at the top and bottom 
of movies recorded at 

k 320 × 112.

 

k 320 × 240 (240 fps)

 

k 320 × 112 (480 fps)

This option controls how the camera selects the focus area for movies.
• 

r CENTER: When shooting starts, the camera focuses on the subject in the 
center of the frame.

• 

u CONTINUOUS: The camera continuously adjusts focus to refl ect changes in 
the distance to subjects near the center of the frame.

 

R Note that in u mode, the camera focuses continuously, increasing the 

drain on the battery, and that the sound of the camera focusing may be 
audible.

 

R If a face is detected when u is selected, a o icon will be displayed and 

the camera will continuously adjust focus to maintain focus on the face.
