Selecting AUTO/AUTO(800)/AUTO(400) as the
sensitivity setting, the camera selects the best
sensitivity setting for the subject’s brightness.
• About AUTO(800)/AUTO(400)
AUTO(800)/AUTO(400) can be selected when the
Mode dial is set to N. For AUTO(800)/AUTO(400),
sensitivity is automatically set in the same way as for
AUTO, but the highest sensitivity is limited. Select
AUTO(800)/AUTO(400) depending on the scene.
MEMO
• When anything other than N, <, M and > in the
Photography mode is selected, only AUTO can be
selected for the ISO (sensitivity) setting.
• When N, <, M and > in the Photography mode is
selected, AUTO cannot be selected for the ISO
(sensitivity) setting.
CAUTION
Although higher sensitivity settings will allow you to take
pictures in darker locations, they will also increase the
amount of speckling in your images. Choose the
sensitivity setting that best suits the conditions.
The selected sensitivity
setting appears on the
screen when the
sensitivity setting is set
to the setting other than
AUTO.
